Pakistan women take to streets to honor Malala, fighting for girls’ education, and now, for her life. (Photo by Faisal Mahmood)

I’m giving thanks for a 14-year-old girl named Malala, and praying for her recovery.

In a country where girls and women fight daily, still, for the opportunity of education — even to study at home — Malala Yousafzai has long stood up to the bullies.

Her family risked everything to lead a school for girls, and Malala, especially, risked her life.

Students and mothers are in the streets in Pakistan vowing to continue her campaign.

Christians and Muslims are praying for Malala there, and I imagine their prayers reach ’round the world.
