Writers have told us for centuries how difficult it is to write, and I’ve often wondered if that’s because, on good days, some work seems like play.

We were on assignment in Vancouver, B.C., on a glorious sunny afternoon, when this man caught our attention.  We believe he was attaching an antenna for scientific tracking, but didn’t have a chance to ask, since he was perched at the top of a mast for hours.

He was there so long, we caught him on our return, appearing as if he had all of the Vancouver waterfront at his command.

With some writing, there are just days when work seems like play, and I am so very grateful for joyous moments like this.
